Akasha Family

Hola- I’m Marlon, and together with my wife Paola and my sister Madeleine, we are the stewards of Akasha Cacao.

I was born and raised in the mountains of Colombia, a land of breathtaking beauty and ancient wisdom. My family has a long heritage of deeply respecting and nurturing the land—a tradition passed down through generations of men and women who understood the sacred bond between humans, plants, animals, and the earth.

Growing up, I was surrounded by the rich aroma of fermenting cacao and the gentle, sweet hum of my elders offering prayers over a pot of cacao as they whisk it with a molinillo. These moments were filled with gratitude and blessings for the day’s work, a ritual that connected us to the heart of life itself.

It took me some time to truly connect with the medicine of cacao. After all, it was something we did every day in many Colombian homes—a simple, sacred ritual woven into the fabric of life. But I had to wander through the complexities of the material world, travel to distant lands, and experience the disconnection from my heart and emotional self to realize the depth of my own unnecessary suffering—and to discover a powerful ally to guide me on my journey.

That journey, though challenging, was necessary. It led me back to my roots, to the land that raised me, and to the treasure of my heritage. The elders were still here, waiting for me—and for you—gathered around the fire, ready to remind us of what we had long forgotten. This path lead me to reunite again with Cacao.

Our mission at Akasha Cacao is simple: to share Sacred Cacao with the world as a tool for healing, reconnection, compassion, and love.

It’s hard to explain how cacao works as a medicine. Science is beginning to catch up, offering explanations for the mind, but cacao’s magic is something you can only feel in your heart. It opens a dimension we’ve forgotten—one that is essential to our evolution and human experience.

The good news? You don’t have to believe in the magic to benefit from cacao. What I’ve shared is just a glimpse of my personal story—a story that might resonate with you. Maybe that’s why you’re reading this right now.

Don’t overthink it or get stuck in the mind. Simply remember that Akasha Cacao is a delicious superfood that nourishes your body and energizes your spirit. Enjoy it, savor it, and let the cacao do the rest.

At Akasha Cacao, we do more than just grow cacao—we nurture a living relationship with the land. Every bean we produce comes this territory, lovingly cultivated and processed using artisanal methods that honor both tradition and excellence. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, not just in the final product, but in the way we care for the earth that gives it life.

Akasha is more than a farm—it is a project that weaves together the ancestral wisdom of Colombia’s native cultures with gentle (yet effective) approaches to agriculture. By blending the timeless principles of Permaculture with the Regenerative agriculture techniques, we ensure that our cacao grows in harmony with nature, not at its expense.

For us, this is not about maximizing yields or treating the land as a mere plantation. The elders taught us another way—one that resonates deeply in our hearts. Our purpose is to co-create a space of abundance and beauty, where nature thrives and gives freely. Cacao is just one of the many gifts that arise from this sacred relationship, and it is with love and gratitude that we now share it with you.

When you taste Akasha Ceremonial Cacao, you are tasting the fruit of devotion, balance, and respect—for the earth, for tradition, and for the journey that brought this cacao to you.

Where are we located?

Our farm, Ecofinca Akasha is nestled in the heart of Santander, Colombia—yet on the opposite side of the region traditionally known for cacao cultivation. This makes our location truly special. The cacao grown here is renowned for its naturally sweet aroma, exceptional flavor, and high cacao butter content—where the true magic resides. Beyond its exquisite taste, cacao from this area is also celebrated for its purity. It has remarkably low levels of cadmium and undetectable traces of lead, making it one of the cleanest and most wholesome cacaos available.

Ecofinca Akasha, The middle house is our Maloka or Ceremonial house, you can see a bit of one of the waterfall on the back (there are actually 3 huge waterfalls).

Something truly exceptional and magical about Akasha Cacao is the land where it grows. We are at the very edge of cacao’s natural ecological range—an elevation where cacao trees aren’t expected to thrive. And yet, in this extraordinary place, nature works its miracles.

Nestled in a dramatic river valley, our farm is embraced by towering mountains and breathtaking waterfalls, including an 80-meter cascade right in front of us. At the valley’s heart, ancient forests and pristine lakes crown the mountain range, creating a microclimate unlike any other. This unique balance of elements mirrors the essence of the Amazonian rainforest, allowing cacao to flourish against all odds.

Akasha Cacao is a gift—one that carries the whispers of the land, the wisdom of the waters, and the spirit of the forest. Every bean is infused with the sacredness and fertility of this place, nurtured with deep love and respect.

When you taste Akasha Cacao, you’re not just savoring chocolate—you’re connecting with the heart of nature itself, with the devotion we pour into every step of our work, and with the timeless magic that makes this cacao truly one of a kind.
